Frequently asked questions

Why is Stain Stuff yellow? Will it stain my white or light fabrics?

Stain Stuff has a naturally yellow colour because of the active ingredients that make it so effective at lifting stains, oils, dirt, makeup and everyday marks. But don’t worry — the yellow colour will NOT stain your clothes, including whites. Once applied, it lifts stains without leaving any marks or tint behind.

We’ve tested it on most white and colour fabrics, materials and surfaces and the yellow tint washes out completely every time.

If you’re ever treating very delicate or high-value fabrics, you’re welcome to do a small patch test — but for normal fabrics and everyday materials, the yellow colour is absolutely safe.

Do I need to wash the stain immediately, or can I spray Stain Stuff and leave it?

You don’t need to panic-wash the moment something spills.
Stain Stuff is designed to fit into real life — not rush you.

Yes, you can spray the stain and leave it until you have time to wash or wipe it off.
There’s no peroxide, no bleach, and nothing harsh that will damage your fabrics if it sits for a while.

So if something happens in the middle of the school run, dinner prep, or a busy morning…
spray it, set it aside, and deal with it later. It’s completely safe.

When treating varnished items:

  • Spray
  • Let it sit for 2–5 minutes
  • Wipe down with clean water

That’s it.

For clothes, fabrics, cushions, shoes, bags, or everyday items, you can spray, leave it, and wash it when you have the time — even on laundry day.

Stains don’t always happen at convenient moments.
Stain Stuff gives you the space to breathe and sort it out when life slows down.

Can I use Stain Stuff on coloured fabrics and delicate materials?

Yes — Stain Stuff has been tested on a wide range of colours, fabrics and textures.
But because every material reacts differently, especially delicate or highly pigmented fabrics, it’s always a good idea to do a quick patch test on an inconspicuous spot before treating the full area.

Where is Stain Stuff made?

Stain Stuff is proudly made in South Africa, specially formulated for South African homes and real-life messes.

How do I use Stain Stuff?

Every stain is different, so your approach can change depending on the mess — and that’s completely okay. You can spray the stain and leave it until you have time — even overnight except for varnished or sensitive surfaces. There’s no peroxide or bleaching agent, so it won’t damage fabrics materials or hard surfaces.

Most stains:

  1. Spray directly onto the stain or mark
  2. Let it sit for a few minutes to allow for the stain to lift - the longer the better
  3. Wipe, rinse, or wash with clean water

Tougher or older stains:

  1. Spray a generous amount and let is sit for a few moments - the longer the better
  2. Gently work or rub the area with your hands or a soft bristle brush
  3. Rinse or wash
  4. Repeat if needed

On varnished or sensitive surfaces:

  1. Spray
  2. Let it sit for 2–5 minutes
  3. Wipe down with clean water

General tips:

  • Adjust how much product you use based on the size and severity of the stain
  • Always follow fabric care instructions
  • If you’re unsure, test on a small hidden area first

Stain Stuff gives you the flexibility to handle each mess in a way that works for your life — no pressure, no rush, no complicated rules.

Are there any surfaces I shouldn’t use Stain Stuff on?
